Parliament building, Lausanne
The Rosebud project won the competition in 2009. This project is particularly relevant to the need for a modern and functional building. The hall of the Grand Council is bathed in natural light, zenith on the one hand, and thanks to large windows on the other.
“While taking historical constraints into account, the new Parliament must be a symbolically open, even transparent building. The life of the room itself, the lost steps and their surroundings, must be visible from the outside, “reads the website of Parliament. To promote this exchange between citizenship and politics, a restaurant will be built on the square which is located at the height of the castle square. With its many plane trees and its breathtaking view of the roofs of the city, it will house a restaurant open to the public where tourists, visitors and MPs can rub shoulders.
